Good news! All the locations now have access to Zoom for broadcasting participatory live online church services. Many thanks to Marlon for organising this.
You should receive an invitation to join those meetings. If not, contact your location leader.
This Friday, 26th March, a pre-recorded lesson from Tim and Malcolm will be provided. The link will be put on the Facebook page and this website. The lesson will be available on the YouTube channel, the Facebook page and here on this site.
Future Fridays are being organised even as we speak, and we will let you know the details soon as they are finalised.
Keep an eye on the website calendar and check back regularly since things are continually on the move!
Thames Valley family, after talking things over with Tim and Shevvy this afternoon I have a couple of thoughts about worship for tonight (Friday) and Sunday.
Regarding Sunday, I have an online meeting tomorrow morning with the location leaders to discuss the best options we have for Sunday worship. We will get back to you after that meeting.
As you know we are not meeting together this Friday. Some family groups have plans, but whether you have a plan or not might I suggest that we have a time of prayer between 8 and 9 PM. Whether you are on your own, with a family member, or gathering online, on the phone or via WhatsApp, let’s pray together.
You might like to use Psalm 102 as a framework.
Some topics to pray about:
Members of our churches around the world
Wisdom for the government
The elderly and vulnerable in our congregation.
Opened eyes for opportunities to comfort or support people.
Faith to trust in God.
Vulnerable people in your community you know of.
Another option would be to listen to the first two podcasts in the new series on the Psalms of Ascent followed by a time of prayer.
You can access the podcasts here: https://www.malcolmcox.org/home-2/psalms-of-ascent-podcast-series/
As you know our Harvest service is around the corner on 6th October and the Wokingham FoodBank has been nominated this year as they are most local to our new venue. They have asked us to buy the following items:
washing up liquid
small boxes/bottles of washing powder/liquids
long life milks
tinned meats (tuna, spam, chicken, etc)
small bags of rice
They have said please please please NO pasta, beans or soups as they have plenty.
Thanks for your continued support in our annual harvest service and may it be the just a start to all the wonderful things we will do for our community.
Here’s where we will be for our trial meeting of a potential new venue on Friday 12 July. Floreat Montague Park Primary School, William Heelas Way, Wokingham, RG 40 1BG. Please make a note of the address and plan to give yourself time to arrive earlier than usual so as to be able to familiarise yourself with the location of the hall, toilets, areas for the children and the like.
