Tonight’s Class in Bracknell

Screen Shot 2015-05-22 at 13.07.10Tonight’s class is the next in the series on the “Beatitudes” taught by Chris Watkins. Why not have a read before coming to church tonight?

““Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

(Matthew 5:3–10 NIV11)

Friday Class, 27th March

JesusChildren.001This Friday (27th March) we’ll finish Colossians 3 (verses 18-25) and have a mini-devotional based on the themes of that passage. It’s a session that will have relevance for wives, husbands, children, fathers and …. slaves! Something for everyone, then!

“Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.” (Colossians 3:18–25 NIV11-GK)
