“Life in the kingdom of God”

Preacher:
Series:
Passage: Luke 12.29-32
Service Type:
Obi’s bold claim today: “Everything you truly need can be found in God’s kingdom!”
Quote: “We get anxious when we stray into territory that we are not meant to inhabit.”
The Kingdom of God is: The Reign of God
“What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.” (Luke 12:29–32 MESSAGE)
6 core human needs
  1. Growth
  2. Love & connection
  3. Contribution
  4. Uncertainty
  5. Significance
  6. Certainty
Three areas in which to experience more of the kingdom:
  1. Personal growth
  2. Business
  3. Relationships
Obi’s bold claim today revised: “Everything you truly need can be found in God’s kingdom…and God wants to give it to you.”
“A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” (John 10:10 MESSAGE)
The kingdom is where Jesus is.
If that’s where he is, and he promises Jn 10.10, then that’s where I want to be.
What does this mean? How respond?
Matrix movie clip: “He’s starting to believe"
Act to complete belief.

  4. Walk with God: Ps 91.1
